Fatiaki Gibson is emerging as a strong contender for the top position at Energy Fiji Limited, with speculation surrounding his potential appointment gaining traction over the past three years. His extensive background as an energy specialist consultant, boasting 34 years in the development of energy sector projects, positions him as a suitable candidate for the role.

Currently, Gibson works as a project advisor for the Government of Vanuatu and the Asian Development Bank, specifically focusing on the Vanuatu Energy Access Programme. He leads a dedicated team from Stantec New Zealand, overseeing design and supervision consultancy. Under his guidance, the project on Malekula has already become operational, with significant progress made on the Espiritu Santo HV line—now 98 percent complete.
