Fatiaki Gibson: The Next Leader of Energy Fiji Limited?

Fatiaki Gibson is emerging as a strong candidate for the leadership position at Energy Fiji Limited, a role that many insiders have speculated he would be suited for over the past three years. He holds a Masters in Business Administration and has dedicated over 26 years to the Fiji Electricity Authority, now known as Energy Fiji Limited, before transitioning into consultancy roles. Currently, Mr. Gibson serves as a project advisor for the Government of Vanuatu and the Asian Development Bank on the Vanuatu Energy Access Programme.

His team, in collaboration with Stantec New Zealand, has successfully completed projects, including the commissioning of a facility on Malekula, and an impressive 98 percent completion of the Espiritu Santo high-voltage line. Moreover, Mr. Gibson contributed to drafting “A Guide to Private Sector Investment in Renewable Electricity Generation in the Pacific,” showcasing his commitment to sustainable energy solutions in the region.
