A man in his 50s has tragically died following a car accident while returning home from a night shift. Reports suggest that the driver lost control of his vehicle, which went off the road and collided with a post. The incident took place this morning in Davuilevu, Nausori.
SSP Mitieli Divuana, the Director of Traffic, reported that emergency responders from the National Fire Authority and police arrived at the scene and immediately took the victim for medical care, but he was unfortunately pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. SSP Divuana indicated that a post-mortem examination will be carried out soon.
Currently, the national road death toll stands at 40, a decrease from 63 during the same period last year.
