Fatal Accident Victim in Navua: Public Assistance Needed

Traffic investigators are seeking public help to identify a man who tragically died in a recent accident in the Southern Division. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana reported that a yet-unidentified individual was allegedly sleeping on Queens Road near Talenaua in Navua when he was struck by a vehicle operated by a 36-year-old driver early on Friday morning at around 1 am.

The victim was rushed to Navua Hospital but was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival. SSP Divuana mentioned that investigators are still working to determine the identity of the victim, who is believed to be an i-Taukei man in his late 20s. In order to assist in identifying him, authorities have released images of his clothing and a tattoo located on his left arm.

The traffic director is urging anyone with information about the man’s identity to reach out to them at 9905 633. The investigation remains active, highlighting the commitment of law enforcement to uncover the truth in this unfortunate incident.

This situation serves as a poignant reminder of the tragic consequences that can arise from road safety negligence and the importance of community involvement in such cases. There is hope that someone will have the information needed to provide closure to the victim’s family.
