Two people have lost their lives following a motor vehicle accident on Wailoaloa Road in Nadi this morning.
The deceased were passengers in a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old resident of Lovu in Lautoka.
It is reported that the driver was attempting to overtake another car when he lost control, resulting in the fatal accident.
The two passengers died at the scene, while the remaining three passengers were rushed to Nadi Hospital with serious injuries.
Director of Traffic, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana, stated that initial information suggests speeding and alcohol as contributing factors to the accident.
