The Fiji Police Force has reported that prompt action by a Police Dog Unit on patrol in Lautoka led to the arrest of a man believed to be linked to a theft that occurred yesterday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, stated that the K9 officers, while patrolling Drasa Avenue, encountered a situation in which a woman had her mobile phone stolen.

The officers quickly tracked down the 25-year-old suspect and successfully recovered the woman’s mobile device.

ACP Driu noted that the suspect, who is a known offender, is currently in custody at the Lautoka Police Station as investigations are ongoing.
