Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka gathered with family and friends yesterday to honor the late Diwan Chand Maharaj at the Davuilevu Crematorium. Maharaj, known as the founder of Quality Print PTE Limited, was a prominent figure in Fiji’s business community.
During his lifetime, Maharaj was a strong advocate for love and friendship, values he instilled in his children and the broader community. His legacy includes a deep commitment to charity and compassion, qualities that left a lasting impact on those around him. Rabuka highlighted Maharaj’s achievements, including co-founding Sun Insurance PTE Limited in 1999 and playing an instrumental role in establishing the Kidney Foundation of Fiji.
In addition to his entrepreneurial pursuits, Maharaj was deeply involved in community service, participating in numerous charitable organizations and serving in the Rotary Club since 1990. His leadership extended to national roles, having formerly served as the president of the Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji.
Prime Minister Rabuka also reflected on their shared experience attending the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, emphasizing Maharaj’s commitment to family and his roles as a husband, grandfather, and mentor. He concluded his tribute with a heartfelt farewell, expressing hope for Maharaj’s peaceful rest.
