Family Reunion Fuels Passion for Rugby Stardom

Litiana Naqatalevu departed from Beqa Island early yesterday morning to attend the Fiji Bulikula rugby league team’s practice session at Albert Park in Suva. The journey, costing her $100, was worth every penny as it gave her the chance to reunite with her niece, Losana Lutu, after 12 years apart.

Naqatalevu remarked, “I always knew she would excel in sports because she was talented,” referring to Losana, whose father is her brother.

At just 20 years old, Lutu is emerging as a star in the National Rugby League Women (NRLW) in Australia, currently playing for the Wests Tigers. She is anticipated to be a key player for the Bulikula team as they prepare to face the Cook Islands this Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

“We’re getting our banners ready in our village, Naceva, to support Losana and the girls during the match against the Cook Islands,” Naqatalevu expressed with excitement.
