Family Reunion Fuels Excitement for Rising Rugby Star in Fiji

Litiana Naqatalevu departed from Beqa Island early yesterday morning to join the Fiji Bulikula rugby league team’s morning training session at Suva’s Albert Park. Spending $100 on travel was a small price for her as she finally reunited with her niece, Losana Lutu, after 12 years apart.

“I always knew she would succeed in sports because she was very talented,” Naqatalevu shared. Losana Lutu, now 20 years old, is emerging as a star in the National Rugby League Women (NRLW) in Australia and is a key player for the Wests Tigers.

She is anticipated to make a significant impact when the Bulikula team faces the Cook Islands this Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. “Back in our village in Naceva, we are preparing banners for Saturday’s game. We are all excited to support Losana and the team,” Naqatalevu added.
