Many people celebrated Prophet Muhammad’s birthday yesterday with planned activities and worship at homes and mosques, while others took advantage of the public holiday to visit picnic spots across the country. The sunny and breezy weather made it an ideal day for families to enjoy time together.

Among those enjoying the day was the Kalabu Jyoti Assemblies of God church. Their day began with a service, followed by team bonding activities that included a potluck lunch. Arveena Kumar, the wife of senior pastor Suresh Kumar, expressed that the turnout and activities were very engaging. She stated, “We are here for team bonding and basically a family get-together.” The church group enjoyed a hearty lunch along with various games such as spoon races, apple and bun eating contests, duck and wheelbarrow races, touch rugby, and concluded with swimming.

At Suva Point in Laucala Bay, the Hedstrom family from Nakasi, Nasinu, also took the opportunity to enjoy a picnic. According to family member Kibae, the outing provided a perfect break from school and work. Fifteen-year-old Caleb Ueanimaraki shared that the trip was a relaxing one, stating, “I came with my uncle and his family, and the trip was relaxing before we get back to school.”
