Families Embrace Fun and Fellowship on Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday

On the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, many individuals engaged in various planned activities and prayers at homes and mosques, while others took advantage of the public holiday to enjoy picnics at various locations across the country. The sunny and breezy weather made it an ideal day for families to spend time outdoors.

Members of the Kalabu Jyoti Assemblies of God church were amongst those celebrating. Their day began with a service, followed by team bonding activities, including a potluck lunch. Arveena Kumar, the senior pastor’s wife, shared that the turnout was wonderful and the activities were engaging. “We are here for team bonding and basically a family get-together,” she said. The group enjoyed a delightful lunch and participated in games such as spoon race, apple and bun eating, duck and wheelbarrow races, touch rugby, and ended the day with swimming.

The Hedstrom family, hailing from Nakasi, Nasinu, also spent the day at Suva Point in Laucala Bay. For them, it was a welcomed break from school and work, according to Kibae, the father. His 15-year-old son, Caleb Ueanimaraki, described the outing as a relaxing escape before returning to school. He noted, “I came with my uncle and his family, and the trip was relaxing.”
