Extra Supermarket has stepped up as a key sponsor for the upcoming 2024 Fiji Architects’ Association (FAA) awards, which will take place tonight at the Fiji Museum. This was announced by the supermarket’s sales and marketing manager, Leilani Burns, during a press briefing at the FAA’s headquarters.

Ms. Burns emphasized the significance of the event in acknowledging the creativity, vision, and commitment of Fiji’s architects, underscoring their vital contribution to shaping the country’s built environment. She expressed Extra Supermarket’s pride in supporting an initiative that aims to enhance the nation.

The FAA’s general secretary, Setoki Tuiteci, expressed gratitude towards Extra Supermarket for their continued partnership, recalling their support during the association’s revival last year when it had been inactive for several years. Mr. Tuiteci highlighted the mutual dedication to fostering architectural excellence in Fiji and looked forward to future collaborations.

The awards ceremony will feature five judges, three of whom are arriving from abroad, and they are currently in the process of determining the night’s winners. Tickets for the event are selling quickly, and any remaining tickets will be available at the door for those interested in attending.

This sponsorship reflects a positive trend of corporate involvement in community events, which can significantly enhance cultural appreciation and innovation within the nation’s architectural scene.

Overall, this partnership not only supports the FAA but also showcases the importance of corporate responsibility and community engagement in fostering local talent and development.
