Extra Supermarket has proudly announced its sponsorship of the upcoming 2024 Fiji Architects’ Association (FAA) awards, scheduled to take place at the Fiji Museum this evening. The announcement was made by Leilani Burns, the sales and marketing manager of Extra Supermarket, during a press event at the FAA’s head office.
Ms. Burns emphasized the significance of the awards, stating, “This event recognizes the innovation, vision, dedication, and the crucial role that Fiji’s architects play in shaping our nation’s built environment.” She expressed Extra Supermarket’s commitment to supporting initiatives that benefit the country, looking forward to celebrating the talents of local architects showcased at the awards.
Setoki Tuiteci, the general secretary of FAA, expressed gratitude towards Extra Supermarket for its continued partnership. He noted that the supermarket had supported the association during its revitalization last year, a time when the FAA had been less active. Tuiteci remarked on the association’s excitement for Extra’s participation in this year’s awards and hopes for future collaborations.
The awards ceremony will feature five judges, three of whom are arriving from overseas to finalize the winners. With tickets selling rapidly, Tuiteci mentioned that any remaining tickets will be available at the door for attendees interested in celebrating the architecture community.
This sponsorship reflects a growing recognition of the importance of local achievements in architecture, showcasing Fiji’s unique talents and innovations. The event not only highlights the contributions of architects to national development but also enhances community engagement and support for the arts.
Overall, this partnership is a positive step towards fostering innovation in architecture within Fiji and creating a platform for talented architects to gain the recognition they deserve.
