Extra Supermarket has announced its sponsorship of the 2024 Fiji Architects’ Association (FAA) awards, set to take place at the Fiji Museum this evening. The declaration was made by Leilani Burns, the sales and marketing manager of Extra Supermarket, during her visit to the FAA head office.
Burns expressed the company’s commitment to supporting this event, emphasizing the significance of recognizing the innovation, vision, and dedication of Fiji’s architects who contribute to the nation’s infrastructure. “For us, it’s definitely a way to support the work that is going to benefit our country,” she remarked, underscoring their eagerness to witness the talents on display during the awards.
Setoki Tuiteci, general secretary of the FAA, acknowledged Extra Supermarket’s continued partnership. “Extra came on board last year during our revamp, at a time when the association had not been active for a few years,” he stated, appreciating the supermarket’s ongoing collaboration for this year’s event.
Tonight’s awards will feature five judges, including three distinguished professionals traveling from abroad, who are currently finalizing the winners. Tuiteci noted the high demand for tickets, mentioning that if any remain, they would be available at the door for attendees wishing to join the celebration of architectural talent.
This sponsorship highlights the growing support for the architectural sector in Fiji and reflects a positive trend in community engagement that values innovation and excellence in building design.
In summary, Extra Supermarket’s support for the FAA awards not only celebrates architectural achievements but also reinforces the importance of collaboration in advancing Fiji’s built environment. This partnership sets a hopeful tone for future engagements and developments in the industry.
