Fiji Water Flying Fijians coach Mick Byrne is satisfied with the team’s progress ahead of their Test match against the New Zealand All Blacks in San Diego, USA, next Saturday.
Byrne notes that the Drua players are integrating well with those from the Northern Hemisphere, particularly in their set-pieces.
He emphasizes the strong connections within the team, indicating that family ties naturally bond the players.
“They have experienced each other in campaign mode, and there’s a lot of high energy as there always is with Fijians around. The boys are enjoying each other’s company,” said Byrne.
Byrne believes that the players enjoying each other’s company will benefit the team in their upcoming match.
“I’ve noticed that there are some strong connections within the team, which is amazing to see.”
He also highlights the importance of preparing early for the next Rugby World Cup and is focusing on developing the team’s set-pieces.
“It’s an exciting time for Fiji Rugby, and we have plenty of time to get ready for the next Rugby World Cup. Right now, we’re focusing on our set-pieces for the upcoming test match.
“I just need all the players to step up and be the strong, physical team that we know we can be, and let’s take on the match together.”
The Flying Fijians will face the All Blacks at 2:30 pm next Saturday at the Snap Dragon Stadium.
