Champions Lautoka overcame a determined Nadroga team with a 3-2 victory in Round 12 of the Digicel Fiji Premier League at Churchill Park today.
The Blues took the lead with a penalty converted by Sairusi Nalubu. Nadroga quickly equalized with a goal from Ravinesh Reddy, but Lautoka regained the lead through Aporosa Yada. Saula Waqa extended Lautoka’s advantage with a well-placed header from a Muni Shivam cross.
Nadroga narrowed the deficit with a penalty scored by national striker Rusiate Matarerega. Despite several opportunities from both teams, the match ended with a narrow win for Lautoka.
With this victory, Lautoka climbs to the third spot with 19 points, while Nadroga stays in seventh place with 14 points.
