New categories have been introduced for the upcoming Prime Minister’s International Business Awards, set to take place on Saturday, November 30, at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort on Denarau Island in Nadi. Businesses are invited to submit their applications for a total of 15 categories until the month’s end for the 2024 awards.
Event organizer and Investment Fiji CEO Kamal Chetty highlighted the new categories, which include the Excellence in Employer Award, Excellence in Fisheries Award, Excellence in Forestry Award, and the Excellence in Yasana (Provincial) Aspiration Award. He noted that these additions will enhance the event’s focus and recognize significant accomplishments in vital sectors.
This year’s awards, themed Business Innovation and Sustainability, were officially launched last month, and the response for applications has been described as impressive by the organizers. Chetty emphasized the importance of innovation and sustainability, stating that the event encourages businesses to implement sustainable practices while striving for success.
He expressed enthusiasm about the numerous first-time applicants and their success stories, underscoring the event’s role in acknowledging innovation and excellence within the business sector. Chetty urged businesses that have not yet applied to do so promptly, stressing the opportunity for recognition and networking with industry leaders.
The 15 categories for this year’s awards include: Supreme Award; Premier Large Business Operating Internationally Award; Premier Medium Business Operating Internationally Award; Premier Small Business Operating Internationally Award; Excellence in Innovation Award; Excellence in E-Commerce Transformation Award; Excellence in Service Award; Agri-Business Innovation Award; Excellence in Fisheries Award; Excellence in Forestry Award; Executive of the Year Award; Employer of the Year Award; Best Sustainability Initiative Award; Excellence in Outsourcing Award; and Excellence in Yasana (Provincial) Aspiration Award.
