The upcoming Bluewater Boxing promotion event, set for February next year, will showcase a thrilling matchup between veteran boxer Joseph Kwadjo and Robin Hazel-man as the main event. Promoter Samir Khan confirmed this exciting news to SUNsports, revealing plans for four programs throughout the year.
The February fight will take place at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, with the official launch scheduled for 1 PM on Friday at the Holiday Inn in Suva. In addition to Kwadjo and Hazel-man, other notable boxers such as Alifereti Kauyaca, Paulo Ratumaikoro, and Ratu Rakuro Daunivavana will also compete in the lineup. Mohammed Ali and Jese Ravudi are among the other fighters confirmed for the event.
Khan emphasized the promotion’s commitment to following safety regulations, stating that they have adhered to established protocols over the previous three boxing events this year, successfully providing necessary medical support, including ambulances and drug testing.
He also highlighted the industry’s lack of insurance for boxers, noting the inherent risks involved in the sport. As a precaution, Bluewater Boxing plans to closely monitor the health of its fighters and will require medical certificates from each competitor.
Furthermore, Khan mentioned that the promotion aims to create opportunities for registered boxers affiliated with recognized clubs. He stressed the importance of proper registration for coaches and managers, insisting on proof of credentials to ensure fair play within the sport.
Overall, the Bluewater Boxing promotion reflects a commitment to providing a safe and regulated environment for participants while promoting the sport of boxing in the community. Fans can look forward to an exciting event that not only showcases talented boxers but also upholds the highest standards of health and safety in combat sports.
