Excitement Sparks as Vashist Muni Reignites Interhouse Competition

Vashist Muni Memorial Primary School in Navua recently hosted its highly anticipated interhouse competition after a lengthy break. This event was the first of its kind in years, bringing the school community together for a large-scale sporting occasion filled with enthusiasm and energy.

Sailosi Danford, the school’s sports teacher for the past 14 years, shared his excitement about the return of this beloved event, stating, “This is after a very long time that we are having our interhouse again.”

The competition saw participation from over 500 students representing six houses: Mars, Venus, Mercury, Neptune, and Jupiter, competing in various events. According to Danford, the primary goal of the interhouse competition is to encourage maximum participation among students. He emphasized, “We want to choose our athletes for the zone that will be happening in week nine.”

The upcoming zone competition will feature schools from the Navua corridor, including Namosi, and Lomary from Serua. The interhouse competition acts as a selection platform for athletes who will represent Vashist Muni at this zone meet. In a message to parents, Danford expressed his appreciation for their continued support.

Despite initial concerns about wet conditions, he reassured parents that the children were having a great time and gaining valuable experience. He highlighted that the event is not only focused on competition but also aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and teamwork among students.
