Star midfielder Edwin Sahayam and striker Ratu Anare are set to make their appearances for Extra Supermarket Labasa in the first leg of the Pillay’s Garment Champion versus Champion against Rewa at Subrail Park today. This was confirmed by Fiji FA CEO Mohammed Yusuf, who stated that the transfer applications for both players have been approved.
Labasa has been preparing for this match without their head coach, Ravneel Pratap, due to personal commitments. Interim coach Alvin Chand has been leading the team in training for the past two weeks, focusing on ensuring his key players remain injury-free ahead of the crucial match. He mentioned that he has been working on team combinations and is considering utilizing some youth players alongside the senior squad.
On the other side, the Extra Supermarket-sponsored Rewa team will feature Bruce Hughes and Kavaia Rawaqa in their lineup. The match is scheduled to kick off at 1:30 PM.
