Currently, 243 individuals are taking refuge in four evacuation centers located in the Western Division. According to an update from the National Disaster Risk Management Office (NDRMO), these centers are accommodating a total of 63 households.

The distribution of evacuees is concentrated at Andrews Primary School in Nadi, which houses 180 individuals, while Saioni Church has 35 evacuees. Additionally, Korovuto Secondary School and Tavua District Primary School each accommodate 14 people.

The Divisional Emergency Operations Centres (EOCs) are actively collaborating with various government ministries and NGOs to deliver essential support to those affected by the situation. Efforts to distribute food rations continue in the evacuation centers, ensuring that the immediate needs of the evacuees are met during this challenging time.

This situation underscores the resilience of communities coming together in the face of adversity. It is hopeful to see the collaboration between government and non-government organizations aimed at providing necessary assistance to those in need. As help continues to flow into these centers, it reflects a strong commitment to supporting affected families during their time of recovery.
