Ratu Kadavulevu School triumphed over Marist Brothers High School in a thrilling Vodafone Super Deans U17 final, securing a narrow 35-34 victory at the HFC Bank Stadium this afternoon.
The match was a closely contested affair from beginning to end, with both teams exchanging tries in an intense battle. RKS’s Tevita Rokosuka made significant contributions by scoring two of the twelve tries tallied by both teams.
At halftime, RKS maintained a slight edge with a 21-17 lead. The competition remained fierce in the second half, with Lemeki Ratuvukivuki extending RKS’s lead with an additional try. However, Marist quickly countered with a try from Saverio Tavakai, reducing the score to 28-22 in favor of RKS.
Sairusi Rokotuva added two more tries for RKS, but Semi Vuakilau’s effort for Marist closed the gap, resulting in a tense final score of 35-34, allowing RKS to narrowly secure the victory.
