The All Nations Christian Fellowship successfully held a two-day Epic 7s Tournament over the weekend at Prince Charles Park, concluding yesterday. The event attracted a large crowd and aimed to raise funds for the construction of a new church, featuring 20 senior men’s teams, 24 U21 teams, and five women’s teams.
This tournament is part of the church’s three-year fundraising initiative to gather between $30,000 and $35,000 needed for a new place of worship in Suva. The church community was enthusiastic about the participants’ turnout and support, with hopes to raise between $20,000 and $25,000 from the tournament.
Tournament Director Vilitati Galivia shared the church’s mission, stating, “The main reason for this tournament is to build an All Nations Christian Fellowship Church in Suva. We already own land in Suva, but we need to proceed with the construction, which is estimated to cost around $30,000 to $35,000. Our goal with this two-day tournament is to potentially raise $20,000 to $25,000.”
The tournament included teams from the Western, Northern, and Eastern divisions, showcasing skillful play and sportsmanship. Notably, the police team delivered a strong performance throughout the competition, further enhancing the event’s competitive spirit.
