Ratu Kadavulevu School Old Boys triumphed with a narrow 40-36 win over Queen Victoria School Old Boys, earning the Sovanivalu Shield in a thrilling match at Albert Park in Suva yesterday.
The contest showcased the rivalry between two of Fiji’s legendary rugby schools. RKSOB got off to a strong start, leading 25-15 at the halftime mark. However, QVSOB made a determined effort to close the gap in the second half, turning the match into a fiercely contested battle.
Star players from both teams shone throughout the game, with QVSOB featuring Fijian Drua halfback Simione Kuruvoli and former Flying Fijians fullback Kini Murimurivalu. RKSOB boasted an impressive lineup of Fiji 7s stars, including Terio Tamani, Josese Batirerega, Filipo Bukayaro, and Sakiusa Siqila.
