Epic Boxing Showdown: Haider Prepares for the Fight of His Life!

Ubayd Haider has described his forthcoming match for the IBO (International Boxing Organisation) Oceania-Orient vacant featherweight title against China’s Runqi Zhou as the most significant challenge of his boxing career.

Haider stated that his training began this week after a prolonged break, emphasizing a thorough preparation. “I will leave no stone unturned,” he vowed. He noted the challenge of finding sparring partners in Fiji, saying, “The only challenge is there’s not much involved in boxing, and I do not have a lot of sparring partners here.”

Despite his limited training partners, Haider remains focused on solo preparation. He acknowledged Zhou as a formidable opponent, saying, “He is very tough, and I will have to match him in the ring.” Haider recognized Zhou’s high work rate and expressed his belief that while Zhou may lack significant power, he possesses strong boxing skills.

The match will take place on October 26 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi, and Haider anticipates a fierce battle. “I’ve been training alone because of my work and the timing of the match,” he said, training at the Uptown boxing gym in Suva.

He is encouraging fans to attend what he promises will be an exhilarating fight. “It will be a bloodbath; both of us will have broken noses, cuts around our eyes, we’ll be at war in this fight,” he asserted. Acknowledging Zhou’s impressive training background with notable fighters like the Maloney twins and Alex Winwood, he recognized that facing him will not be easy.

Haider suggested that even his critics would likely attend the bout to see him challenged. “I’m going to prepare myself well, and we’ll have a good fight,” he stated. “Like every other fighter, I will be coming for victory.” He also expressed confidence in his boxing strategy, citing his footwork and height advantage over Zhou.

Finally, Haider expressed gratitude to South Pacific Boxing promotions and Amarok Accessories for their ongoing support.
