FIJI Water Flying Fijians coach Mick Byrne stresses the importance of concentrating on their own game rather than focusing too much on what the All Blacks are doing.
Byrne believes that by highlighting their strengths and seizing any opportunities, the team can compete against the formidable All Blacks.
He notes the improved depth of the squad, partly due to the experiences gained by players in the Northern Hemisphere who regularly face top international competition.
“Our Northern Hemisphere players engage in tough matches against teams like France, England, and Ireland every week, which constantly tests them at an international level. This is excellent preparation for facing the All Blacks,” said Byrne.
“Integrating the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua team has significantly contributed to our growth. It has added more professionalism and depth to our squad, which is a big advantage for us.”
“Our squad has seen considerable improvement in depth, which is great news for us. As we gear up to face the All Blacks, we’ll be focusing on our own game and ensuring we play to our strengths.” Fiji will take on the All Blacks at 2.30 pm next Saturday at Snapdragon Stadium, San Diego.
