Enhancing Fiji’s Game Plan Against All Blacks

FIJI Water Flying Fijians coach Mick Byrne stresses the importance of concentrating on their own game and not getting overly concerned with what the All Blacks are doing.

He believes that by staying true to their strengths and seizing any opportunities, they can compete against the formidable All Blacks team.

Byrne acknowledges the enhanced depth of the squad, partly due to the experience gained by Northern hemisphere players who regularly face top international competition.

“Our Northern hemisphere players have tough matches against teams like France, England, and Ireland every week. This constant testing at an international level is fantastic preparation for facing the All Blacks,” said Byrne.

“Adding the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua team to our mix has significantly contributed to our growth. It has brought more professionalism and depth to our squad, which is a substantial boost for us.

“Our squad has improved in depth, which is excellent news. When we face the All Blacks, we will focus on our own game and ensure we play to our strengths.” The match between Fiji and the All Blacks takes place at 2.30 pm next Saturday at Snap Dragon Stadium, San Diego.
