Fatiaki Gibson is emerging as a strong candidate for the leadership position at Energy Fiji Limited (EFL), with speculation surrounding his ascension to the role growing over the past three years. Gibson previously served on the board of directors for Energy Fiji Limited and brings a wealth of experience from his over 26 years with the Fiji Electricity Authority (now EFL). He holds a Master’s in Business Administration and has transitioned into consultancy, demonstrating his adaptability and expertise in the energy field.
Currently, Gibson is involved with the Government of Vanuatu and the Asian Development Bank, serving as a project advisor for the Vanuatu Energy Access Programme. He leads a team of specialists from Stantec New Zealand, overseeing the successful commissioning of projects on Malekula and advancing the completion of the high voltage line on Espiritu Santo, which is nearly finished.
Additionally, he has contributed to the formulation of guidelines for private sector investments in renewable electricity generation in the Pacific, published by the International Finance Corporation.
