The Natabua High School Under-18 girls rugby team is poised for further success as they prepare for the Weet-Bix Raluve Trophy semifinals, following an impressive victory over Nasinu Secondary School. Team manager Rigieta Radrodro conveyed the profound lessons of resilience, discipline, and confidence that the players gain through their involvement in rugby, emphasizing that the values learned extend beyond the field.

Radrodro is particularly proud of how the sport fosters teamwork, determination, and aspiration among young women. She expressed a strong belief that, while not all girls may choose to play rugby, those who do can discover significant personal growth. “It has taught them more than just the game,” she stated. “I would like for all the girls out there, you can play rugby. And it will help you discover so much more about yourself.”

Asserting that while winning is important, Radrodro highlighted that the transformation of her players into strong, ambitious individuals is of greater significance. The team’s upcoming semifinal match is scheduled for August 16 at Lawaqa Park in Nadroga, offering them another opportunity to showcase their skills and determination.

This emphasis on personal development through sports, particularly in girls’ rugby, adds a positive dimension to their competitive spirit and indicates a promising future for these young athletes. Engaging in such vigorous activities not only enhances their athletic prowess but also nurtures resilient, confident individuals ready to face the challenges ahead.
