Jack’s of Fiji celebrated the opening of the Rise Beyond The Reef store in Port Denarau, Nadi, on Tuesday.
During the grand opening, Jack’s of Fiji director Nikul Khatri emphasized that this event marks an important moment not only for the company but for the local community as well.
Khatri stated, “This step supports local artisans and promotes sustainable growth through our partnership with Rise Beyond The Reef. This initiative is more than just a brand; it serves as a movement that links rural women and communities in Fiji to the global market. It aims to preserve traditional skills and craftsmanship while opening up economic opportunities.”
He expressed pride in collaborating with an organization that is dedicated to uplifting communities, particularly rural artisans. He expressed gratitude towards Rise Beyond The Reef for this partnership and excitement in showcasing their ethically made products at Port Denarau.
“These products reflect the stories of the women who create them with love and dedication, and we are privileged to share these stories with the world,” Khatri added.
Minister for Women Lynda Tabuya commended Jack’s of Fiji for providing access to products made by rural women through Rise Beyond The Reef, highlighting the importance of recognizing and valuing their craftsmanship and creativity.
“As we inaugurate this store, it’s important to remember that this is more than just a retail space; it serves as a platform for women and for all the women of Fiji,” she remarked.
Rise Beyond The Reef is a non-profit organization that empowers indigenous women and their families in Fiji by designing eco-friendly, culturally significant, and socially conscious handmade goods, as well as promoting climate-smart agricultural practices.
