Over 70 women leaders from various sectors gathered for a Women in Corporate Leadership breakfast on Thursday, featuring ANZ New Zealand’s chief executive officer, Antonia Watson. The event, organized by Suva-based consultancy firm SALT Incorporated Limited, focused on the theme “Evolution of Leaders” and included a speech by Ms. Watson emphasizing the significance of having clear values to rely on during challenging leadership situations.
SALT Inc principal, Ana Laqeretabua, expressed appreciation for Ms. Watson’s presence, highlighting the valuable insights and tools she shared to assist women leaders in navigating their challenges. Ms. Watson encouraged attendees to embrace authenticity, noting that relatable and genuine leaders are highly valued.
ANZ Fiji’s country head Rabih Yazbek stated that bringing senior executives to Fiji is part of ANZ’s commitment to the community. He noted that being part of a global network allows them to present opportunities for aspiring business leaders in Fiji to learn from executives like Ms. Watson. He remarked on the importance of promoting a strong connection between ANZ Fiji and New Zealand, reaffirming Fiji’s significant role in ANZ’s international network.
Ms. Watson arrived in Suva on Wednesday after a two-day visit to Apia, Samoa.
