The Women Invigorating the Nation (WIN) Convention 2025 has been officially announced by the Women Entrepreneurs Business Council (WEBC) in Suva, planned for March 28-29 at the Grand Pacific Hotel. This year’s theme, “Championing Inclusivity and Blazing New Trails for the Future,” aims to surpass the impact of previous conventions, as highlighted by WEBC Chair Vera Chute.

Chute outlined an engaging program that includes extensive discussions, inspiring keynote speeches, and valuable networking opportunities. Sharyne Fong, Chair of the organizing committee, emphasized the convention’s role as a strategic investment for women in business and leadership. This marks the fourth edition of the WIN Convention, with Fong expressing eagerness to bring together women from various backgrounds to share insights and foster growth.

A key objective of WIN 2025 is to promote policy change and advocacy within the business sphere. Fong noted that insights gained from the convention could play a significant role in shaping the national budget, aiming to create a more supportive environment for women entrepreneurs. She also mentioned that previous convention outcomes have been incorporated into WEBC’s corporate strategies, focusing on increasing female representation in leadership roles—a topic that was also a focal point in 2022 discussions.

The event will feature a keynote address by Julie Le Saos, the Ambassador of France to Fiji, who will initiate dialogues around gender equality and leadership, reinforcing the convention’s dedication to fostering inclusive conversations.

The forthcoming WIN 2025 is a part of a positive trend where women are increasingly transitioning from informal to formal business enterprises, a shift particularly noticeable in the micro-enterprise sector, according to WEBC. This trend offers a promising perspective on women’s involvement in the corporate arena. Previous initiatives aimed at bridging the entrepreneurial gap for women, especially in underrepresented areas, are shaping a more optimistic economic future.

The WIN Convention represents a collective commitment to driving progressive change, marking a significant step in the pursuit of enhanced women’s empowerment and inclusive societal structures. This year’s event not only celebrates the resilient spirit of women leaders but also contributes to the broader ongoing movement for gender equality and sustainable development in Fiji. It stands as a beacon of hope for continued advocacy for women’s rights and the resources necessary for their success.
