Seventeen emerging leaders from Outsource Fiji member organizations celebrated their graduation from the Outsource Fiji Leading for Impact Training Program this week. This milestone is seen as a significant achievement in the professional journeys of the graduates, with many highlighting the essential skills and insights gained during the training.
Outsource Fiji President Morika Hunter emphasized the importance of this initiative in fostering female leadership, stating, “Investing in the development of women is not just a matter of social responsibility, but a strategic necessity.” She noted that the unique skills and perspectives women bring to the workforce are crucial for the growth and innovation within the outsourcing sector, which is pivotal to Fiji’s broader economy.
Executive Director Josefa Wivou remarked that the training provided participants with specialized skills and industry knowledge that would enhance operational efficiency and service excellence. He expressed confidence that the leadership training has empowered the graduates, equipping them with the tools to drive positive changes in their respective organizations.
Jane Counsel, a facilitator from Thrive4Women, praised the leadership qualities displayed by the graduates, affirming their passion and commitment to personal and team growth. Graduate Shene Naidu, a manager at Vuvale Outsourcing, noted that the program helped him refine his leadership style and broaden his strategic thinking.
In light of the industry’s rapid expansion, Wivou highlighted that this program is part of a larger vision that includes more training initiatives aimed at promoting inclusivity and leadership within the outsourcing sector. The success of these programs reflects a broader commitment to enhancing female representation in leadership roles, an objective echoed in various initiatives across Fiji, including previous programs organized by the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants.
These efforts signify a hopeful and progressive movement toward a more equitable corporate landscape in Fiji, where the contributions of women leaders can lead to innovative practices and economic growth. The ongoing development and support from Outsource Fiji are set to position Fiji as a preferred outsourcing destination, ensuring sustainable progress for the industry and its workforce.
