Empowering Job Growth: Outsource Fiji’s Bold Vision

Outsource Fiji president Morika Hunter emphasized that the Government’s $1.2 million allocation to the organization in the 2024-2025 Budget will drive efforts to create more job opportunities in the country. She noted that this funding would help address labor migration by enabling Fijians to secure competitive, well-paying jobs while remaining close to their families and communities in Fiji.

Hunter highlighted the increased funding would also support Outsource Fiji’s initiatives to enhance the nation’s risk diversification capabilities. “Our focus is on making Fiji a well-recognized risk diversification location,” she stated. “This funding will help us further market Fiji’s competitive outsourcing advantages, attracting global brands and investors in vital areas such as infrastructure, training, and education, thereby creating more employment opportunities for Fijians.”

Expressing gratitude for the Fijian Government’s ongoing support, Hunter said, “This substantial allocation of $1.2 million will enable us to spearhead initiatives that will not only create more job opportunities but will also allow Outsource Fiji to collaborate extensively with our stakeholders to upskill Fiji’s workforce and those aspiring to join the industry.”

One of the primary objectives with the new budget, according to Hunter, is addressing labor migration by raising awareness about the outsourcing industry. Outsource Fiji executive director Sagufta Janif added that the organization is also looking into obtaining quality certification to ensure their operators meet international standards, thereby enhancing their service offerings and credibility in the global market.

“Additionally, we will intensify our efforts to market Fiji as an outsourcing destination in new markets such as the USA and the UK, while continuing to strengthen our presence in existing markets like Australia,” she said.
