Rampur Primary School in Navua celebrated its Annual Prize Giving and Year 8 Graduation ceremony on November 28. This special event recognized the achievements of students, with Arshia Mala from Year 803 receiving the prestigious DUX 2024 award.

During the ceremony, Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sakeo Raikaci, delivered an inspiring speech to the students, underscoring the importance of self-respect. He emphasized, “Don’t make decisions today that you will live your entire life regretting.” Raikaci encouraged the students that a bright and fulfilling future is achievable through honesty and self-appreciation. He pointed out that the journey toward self-respect not only requires valuing oneself but also maintaining respect for others.

Raikaci specifically urged students to steer clear of choices that may jeopardize their futures, offering support to those who may have made mistakes in the past. He reminded the audience that mistakes do not define a person and that every student has the ability to shape their future with informed choices.

The message conveyed by Raikaci serves as a powerful reminder that the foundation for a successful life is self-valuing and respect. He motivated the students to embrace a path of growth, encouraging positive change and personal development as they move forward.

This event not only celebrated academic achievements but also instilled essential life lessons, leaving students motivated to build a promising future.
