Empowering Futures: Join the WIN Convention 2025!

The Women Invigorating the Nation (WIN) Convention 2025, themed “Championing Inclusivity and Blazing New Trails for the Future,” has been officially announced by the Women Entrepreneurs Business Council (WEBC) in Suva. Scheduled to take place on March 28-29 at the Grand Pacific Hotel, this event is anticipated to be larger and more impactful than previous iterations, according to WEBC Chair Vera Chute.

Chute highlighted an engaging program for the two-day convention that will feature thorough discussions, inspiring keynote speeches, and ample networking opportunities. Sharyne Fong, Chair of the organizing committee, emphasized the convention’s significance as a valuable investment for women in business and leadership roles. This will be the fourth WIN Convention, and Fong expressed enthusiasm about uniting women from diverse backgrounds to share opportunities and encourage growth.

A notable goal of WIN 2025 is to drive policy change and advocacy within the business community. Fong mentioned that insights from the convention could influence the national budget, reflecting a commitment to creating a supportive environment for women in entrepreneurship. She also indicated that outcomes from previous conventions have been integrated into the WEBC’s corporate strategies, with a focus on increasing female representation in leadership positions, a theme echoed during discussions in 2022.

Ambassador of France to Fiji, Julie Le Saos, will deliver a keynote address that aims to spark conversations around gender equality and leadership, emphasizing the event’s commitment to fostering inclusive dialogues.

The WIN 2025 convention follows a positive trend observed in women transitioning from informal to formal business ventures, as noted by WEBC. This shift, especially in the micro-enterprise sector, provides a hopeful outlook on women’s increasing engagement in the corporate world. Previous initiatives focusing on closing the entrepreneurial gap for women, particularly in underrepresented regions, are contributing to a more promising economic landscape.

Overall, the convention embodies a collective determination for positive change, marking another step forward in the journey toward enhanced women’s empowerment and a more inclusive society.

This year’s WIN Convention highlights not only the unwavering spirit of women leaders but also reflects the broader movement advocating for gender equality and sustainable development in Fiji. It stands as a beacon of hope for continued progress in fostering women’s rights and providing the necessary tools for their success.
