Empowering Futures: Bua Youth Festival Celebrates Digital Innovation

The youth of Bua have received support and empowerment to pursue sustainable development through digital innovation, which has been the focal point of the week-long Bua Youth Festival. The event, themed “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development,” commenced with a celebration of International Youth Day, bringing together youth representatives from the provinces of Bua, Cakaudrove, and Macuata.

During the festival’s opening on Tuesday, Youth and Sports Minister Jese Saukuru underscored the vital role of young people in shaping the future. “Today not only acknowledges the unique challenges faced by you individuals, but also highlights your pivotal role as key partners in driving positive change,” stated Mr. Saukuru.

Kinijioji Vakawaletabua, an assistant lecturer at FNU and vice president of the Bua Youth Council, emphasized the festival as a significant platform for youth to connect, learn, and grow. He remarked, “This event provides an opportunity for young people to showcase their talents, share their ideas, and learn from key stakeholders like the FNU about how they can contribute to a brighter future for Fiji.” Mr. Vakawaletabua reaffirmed FNU’s long-standing support for the Bua Youth Festival and its commitment to the aspirations of the province’s youth.

The festival is set to conclude tomorrow.
