Seventy-seven young women proudly graduated from Ballantine Memorial School (BMS) on Saturday. Among them, 53 students achieved Year 13 qualifications, while 24 completed vocational courses in various fields, including hospitality and fashion design.

Principal Sisilia Racule expressed her pride in the graduates, noting the significance of their individual journeys and the accomplishments of the entire class. “It’s humbling to witness how far some of these students have come, and to see what they’ve achieved. It’s truly inspiring,” said Ms. Racule. She emphasized that the prize-giving ceremony serves as a vital acknowledgment of their hard work and dedication.

Ms. Racule drew attention to the importance of BMS’s vocational education programs, which cater to students who may find traditional academic pathways challenging. “We had about 24 vocational graduates, many in hospitality, and we are incredibly proud of their success,” she remarked.

She highlighted that the vocational education initiatives at BMS have yielded impressive outcomes, particularly in fashion design and hospitality fields, where students often find employment shortly after practical training. Ms. Racule also praised the school’s commitment to these programs, especially given the closure of many vocational studies in schools due to government policy. “This is a significant success for the school as well because these girls would have otherwise been at risk of dropping out,” she added.

This graduation is not just a celebration of academic achievement, but also a beacon of hope for future students who may benefit from BMS’s commitment to vocational training, providing them with valuable skills for the workforce.

In summary, the graduation of 77 girls from Ballantine Memorial School reflects the school’s dedication to education, especially for those pursuing vocational paths. It highlights the potential for success outside traditional academics, encouraging both the graduates and future students to follow their passions and achieve their goals.
