Empowering Futures: APTC Transforms Lives in Fiji

The Australian Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) is currently providing valuable training programs in Fiji, aimed at equipping youth with the skills necessary for employment and better quality of life.

On Wednesday, 317 students were awarded certificates, including 181 females and 137 males, during a ceremony held in Nasinu.

One of the graduates, Jokapeci Mocelutu, emphasized the importance of the training she received, stating, “This is a great opportunity that does not require payment, and we can benefit from it in our work.” Jamaici, who is 26 years old and hails from Suvavou, Rewa, is a mother and has been pursuing her studies for the past 12 weeks, balancing her family duties with her education commitments.

Jokapeci is now certified in aged care and plans to seek employment either abroad or locally, recognizing the current challenges of the job market and the rising cost of living. She acknowledged the difficulties she faces, particularly with another child in her care, yet remains optimistic about pursuing further studies in the future.

Similarly, Sainimere Lewetini, also 26 years old from Naweretu, Nakorotubu, expressed her gratitude for the APTC training. She earned her Certificate II in Hospitality and celebrated the positive impact of the program, which prepares participants for real-world challenges.

Sainimere pointed out that the training is just the beginning of her journey, emphasizing the need to capitalize on opportunities for growth. She highlighted the importance of education and practical experience, encouraging others to take advantage of similar training programs to improve their chances of obtaining work and enhancing their quality of life.

Both graduates shared their stories to inspire others to pursue education and professional development, particularly in fields that are crucial for community welfare and economic advancement.
