The Fiji Head Teachers Association has been urged to develop effective strategies that support children’s growth and enhance the educational landscape in Fiji.
During the inauguration of the 41st Fiji Head Teachers Association Conference at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Denarau, Education Minister Aseri Radrodro emphasized the importance of fostering an inspiring environment where students can cultivate innovative ideas and become future problem-solvers.
Radrodro encouraged educators to bridge the divide between traditional teaching methods and innovative practices. He highlighted the necessity of empowering students to think independently and take initiative.
“Teamwork plays a vital role in building social connections, but to foster this, we must shape our children’s character, instill a sense of purpose, and provide clear vision and direction,” he stated.
The Heads of Schools were also advised to extend their influence beyond the classroom. They should actively engage with parents and the broader community to support children’s education.
“Embrace the role of a transformative leader. The government has invested in your development as leaders within your schools, and together we can create an educational environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed, every teacher can thrive, and every community can prosper,” Radrodro concluded.
