In his address, DPM Kamikamica emphasized the important role that microenterprises play in combating poverty and enhancing economic resilience.

“Today, we are not merely launching a platform; we are sharing stories and preserving our heritage,” he stated.

“This collaboration with Shop Pasifika opens avenues for grassroots crafts, enabling our local artisans to connect with a larger audience.”

He expressed gratitude to FRIEND for its steadfast dedication to improving lives over the past 22 years through various social and economic empowerment initiatives.

Mr. Kamikamica also highlighted the transformative capabilities of e-commerce in the current digital landscape, asserting the Government’s dedication to promoting digital innovation and formulating the first-ever E-Commerce Strategy.

This strategy aims to remove obstacles and allow businesses of all sizes to enter global markets.

“Together, we will pave the way for a more resilient and prosperous future for all Fijians,” he remarked.

The launch of the FRIEND E-Commerce Platform is anticipated to significantly improve the livelihoods of numerous Fijians by equipping them with essential skills and access to new markets.
