Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Kamikamica launched the FRIEND E-Commerce Platform at the Grand Pacific Hotel yesterday, marking a crucial advancement for empowering grassroots communities and expanding the reach of local microenterprises.
During his address, DPM Kamikamica emphasized the vital importance of microenterprises in reducing poverty and enhancing economic stability.
“Today, we are not just launching a platform; we are sharing stories and preserving our heritage,” he stated.
He noted that the partnership with Shop Pasifika provides local artisans the opportunity to connect with a wider audience for their crafts.
The Deputy Prime Minister praised FRIEND for its dedication to improving lives over the last 22 years through various social and economic empowerment initiatives.
Mr. Kamikamica also highlighted the transformative potential of e-commerce, emphasizing the Government’s commitment to promoting digital innovation and creating the first E-Commerce Strategy.
