Abdul Shafraz, a young entrepreneur from Vuda in Lautoka, is making significant strides in the local jewelry-making sector, thanks to support from the Youth and Sports Ministry. In July, the Ministry supplied Shafraz with crucial materials and equipment to propel his growing business.
Before receiving this assistance, Shafraz had taken a loan from the Fiji Development Bank to launch his venture. The Ministry’s intervention has played a vital role in helping him successfully repay this loan, demonstrating the impact of supportive initiatives on small businesses.
To broaden his customer base, Shafraz has also transitioned to online sales through his Facebook page, “Jewelry Heaven Fiji,” allowing him to connect with clients across the nation.
The Youth and Sports Ministry aims to empower young entrepreneurs like Shafraz, illustrating a commitment to fostering business development and self-sufficiency among the youth in Fiji. This support not only boosts individual enterprises but also contributes to the overall economic growth of the community.
This story highlights the positive outcomes that can arise from government initiatives aimed at supporting young talent. Shafraz’s journey serves as an inspiring example for other aspiring entrepreneurs in the region.
