The Minister for Women, Children, and Social Protection, Sashi Kiran, emphasized at the Sathya Sai Service Organisation’s national ladies retreat in Rakiraki that the government cannot tackle all social issues alone. She reiterated the importance of collective effort, urging engagement from community members to address societal challenges.

Kiran stressed that values such as care, compassion, and community are essential in combating social ills. “When women stand together, rooted in values, they can transform our nation,” she said, highlighting the theme of resilience among women. Her call was clear: to stand against all forms of violence, serve communities with humility and strength, and support one another in solidarity.

Her ministry is committed to walking this journey alongside organizations and individuals working toward community improvement. “Together, we can build a Fiji that is safer, kinder, and more inclusive—for every woman and every child,” Kiran stated.

This vision aligns with her previous efforts where she emphasized addressing gender-based violence and the need for collaborative action to create a compassionate and equitable society. In past discussions, Kiran has also made efforts to engage local organizations and stakeholders, reinforcing that community involvement is key to addressing pressing social issues.

The proactive stance of Kiran reflects a commitment to fostering unity and hope within Fiji, with an emphasis that real change begins at the grassroots level. This collaboration can pave the way for a brighter future, demonstrating that by working together, communities can combat social challenges effectively.
