Empowering Change: Vodafone Foundation’s Impactful Conference

The Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation has once again demonstrated its dedication to uplifting, empowering, and enriching lives at their 5th Multidisciplinary Pacific Conference. The event, held at the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa, saw the foundation award $141,500 to 14 deserving charities.

The foundation has seen substantial growth and impact throughout recent years, now managing 10 impactful programmes that assist 100 charities annually. They have invested $50 million in social services, forming enduring partnerships with 1000 programme charity partners and maintaining an extensive network of collaborators.

With collaborations involving over 2000 charity organisations, the foundation has positively impacted 800 villages and supported 400 schools with direct grants amounting to $12 million.

Foundation Chairman Lionel Yee emphasized that all grants, partnerships, and initiatives are driven by a singular mission: “to uplift, empower, and enrich the lives of those we serve.”

Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Group of Companies CEO Ivan Fong, who was the chief guest at the conference, highlighted the theme “Catalysing Vitality: Innovations and Insights for Sustainable Wellbeing.” This theme emphasizes the importance of integrating technology, legal frameworks, educational strategies, and community engagement to tackle health and societal challenges.

Mr. Fong discussed the conference’s objectives, focusing on identifying local and regional community issues and exchanging ideas to develop effective solutions. He also underscored the importance of enhancing digital connectivity, exploring digital solutions, social media strategies, and leveraging emerging AI technologies to improve efficiency among Pacific NGOs.
