As Fiji prepares for the highly anticipated music event Bounty Stir It Up 2024, excitement is building around rising star Donell Lewis. Scheduled to perform on September 28, the South Auckland artist of Samoan heritage is set to showcase his distinctive fusion of R&B, hip-hop, and pop.
Donell’s entry into the music industry began at the age of 15, sparked by his newfound love for songwriting while working in his garage. He first gained recognition in 2010 with his debut single “All Night,” featuring EN-V, but it was his experiences with G.E.M that significantly influenced his artistic journey.
After a period of reflection, Donell turned to platforms like YouTube to build his brand and engage with fans. A key moment in his career came when producer DLove recognized his potential, leading to a crucial meeting with DNK World Music.
“This was a turning point in his career, allowing him to work with established artists and producers and earning him considerable acclaim in the Pacific music scene,” stated Onisimo Moi Vatuwaqa, the event’s co-ordinator.
In 2015, Donell achieved a significant milestone by winning the Phillip Fuemana Award for Most Promising Pacific Artist. He is dedicated to staying true to his roots and aims to motivate other Pacific artists to chase their aspirations.
With a rising online presence and a distinctive musical style, Donell is poised to make a significant impact. For those attending Bounty Stir It Up 2024, his live performance promises to be an unforgettable experience as he takes the stage and forges a connection with the audience.
