Emergency Relief: Food Rations on the Way for Nadi Families

Apolosi Lewaqai, the Divisional Commissioner for the Western Division, has announced that the primary focus today is on providing food rations to 61 families currently residing in evacuation centres. This morning, dedicated teams are working to ensure that these families receive necessary supplies, specifically within Nadi, at locations including Andrews Primary School, Saioni Church, Korovuto Secondary School, and the Vou Dance Group Office.

According to the established guidelines, food rations are to be distributed to evacuees within 48 hours following their evacuation. Efforts are underway to prepare the food packages for the families, with the intention to complete the distribution by today.

Commissioner Lewaqai has also noted that emergency operations centres will remain operational due to forecasts of continued rainfall throughout the weekend, ensuring that support remains accessible to those in need.
