The Divisional Commissioner for Western, Apolosi Lewaqai, has announced a significant effort currently underway in the Western Division to distribute food rations to 61 families residing in evacuation centers. These families, affected by recent adverse weather, are being prioritized for assistance.
Commissioner Lewaqai stated that distribution activities are focused in Nadi, targeting evacuation sites including Andrews Primary School, Saioni Church, Korovuto Secondary School, and the Vou Dance Group Office. Under established guidelines, food rations are provided to evacuees 48 hours following their evacuation, and preparations are in progress to ensure the food packages are distributed today.
