The $2.5 billion Emerald Bay development in Nadawa, Nasinu, is set to significantly transform the urban and economic fabric of the region over the next seven years. This ambitious project is anticipated to introduce a mix of residential, commercial, and tourism opportunities that will benefit the local community.

Felix Magnus, acting chief executive officer and board chairman of the Nasinu Town Council, hailed the project as a transformative venture for the community. “The project means a lot to the people of Nasinu,” he stated. The initial phase aims to deliver 184 residential lots by mid-year, with subsequent construction of houses to follow.

Moreover, the development is expected to attract significant commercial partnerships, with work on commercial lots slated to commence once the initial residential phase is completed. In addition to housing and commercial space, Emerald Bay will include seven hotels and a comprehensive sporting stadium designed to host major tournaments—addressing a notable gap in Suva’s facilities.

Mr. Magnus emphasized that this is the largest development in the Central Division, rivaled only by Pacific Harbour. The project will also focus on creating direct employment opportunities for local residents during its construction phase, underscoring its positive economic impact. “Once the houses begin, people from nearby settlements will be employed here. That’s why this project means a lot to us,” he remarked, highlighting the dual focus on economic growth and community benefit.

Emerald Bay stands as a beacon of progress for Nasinu, and its successful realization is expected to enhance both the living standards and economic prospects of the local populace.
