The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad, has called on school students to embrace the values embodied by Lord Ram, asserting that these teachings will guide them towards prosperous futures. While presiding over the Ram Navami celebrations at Samabula Primary School, Prasad emphasized the significance of Lord Ram’s lessons within Fiji’s diverse, multi-ethnic, and multi-religious context.
He discussed Lord Ram’s 14-year exile, reflecting on how his struggles imparted vital lessons of courage, humility, and respect to Fiji’s forefathers, including the Girmitiyas. “In times of adversity, reflection on Lord Ram’s teachings offers solace,” he remarked, highlighting Ram Navami’s importance as a cherished occasion that fosters multicultural understanding.
